Student gives birth to baby in Streamwood High bathroom (Sun-Times Media)

STREAMWOOD — Mother and baby are “doing well” after a Streamwood High School student delivered a baby Tuesday morning in one of the school’s bathrooms.
That’s according to School District U46 Safety Coordinator John Heiderscheidt, who confirmed a flurry of Facebook posts from Streamwood students that the girl had given birth around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the school, 701 W. Schaumburg Rd.
Heiderscheidt could not confirm many details because of “confidentiality for the students,” he said.
But, he said, “The situation occurred very quickly, and it was handled very well.”
